The School of Economics Actively Explores the New Model of Sino-foreign Joint Education and Co-education

On December 20, Wu Ping, Vice Dean of the School of Economics, Gerald DUFFING, Head of the Department of Business Administration, Department of International Economics and Trade, and head of the Office visited the Chengdu Global Cross-Border E-Commerce Service Resource Center to conduct in-depth exchanges on the construction of a collaborative talent training model between China and foreign training and industry and education. Chengdu Cross-border E-Commerce Association President Xing Xiaogang participated in the exchange talks.

Before the meeting, Chengdu Cross-border E-Commerce Association President Xing Xiaogang led Wu Ping and his team to visit the Chengdu Global Cross-Border E-Commerce Service Resource Center, introduced the history of Chengdu cross-border e-commerce industry and Chengdu cross-border e-commerce association growth process and other industries related to the general situation.

At the meeting, Vice President Wu Ping briefed on the basic situation of school and college personnel training, scientific research, international exchanges and cooperation, and said that the internationalization of education in the School of Economics is in the leading position in the whole school, has established stable teaching and scientific research cooperation with a number of well-known foreign institutions, adopted the Chinese-Foreign training method, has received more than 150 overseas students. This year, the college offers an all-English major in international economics and trade, enrolling 29 international students from 16 countries. As a new type of foreign trade, Cross-border e-commerce involves overseas countries trade, which is highly in line with international trade professional overseas students. We’re looking forward to working with Chengdu Cross-border E-Commerce Association in-depth cooperation to carry out joint training of school-enterprise talent. Association President Xing Xiaogang said that the Association is willing to work with the College to explore the path of talent training, the establishment of an incubation mechanism for entrepreneurship, and effectively train high-quality talent for the cross-border e-commerce industry, and strive to build a new model of joint training of students.

After the meeting, Wu Ping and his team made a field visit to the Association's member enterprises, Sta-Led Section, to deepen their understanding of the cross-border e-commerce industry, and lay a good foundation for further cross-border e-commerce training and other school-enterprise cooperation in the future.    （Translation: Wenjing Wang）
